Two recent winners headline a quality list of contenders heading into the semi-finals of the Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup semi-finals on Sunday.

Sydney, which has won two of the previous three T20 titles, meet UNSW in one Sydney Sixers Conference semi-final, while Gordon host 2018/19 winner Sutherland in the other semi at Chatswood Oval.

Sunday’s Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup feature match to be streamed live by the Daily Telegraph is the semi-final between Bankstown and Fairfield-Liverpool, starting at 2:30pm. Match can be seen by from 2.20pm clicking here.

In the Sydney Thunder Conference, Bankstown takes on Fairfield-Liverpool and Parramatta are up against Hawkesbury.

Fairfield-Liverpool (2012/13) is the only one of that four to have previously held the trophy.

Sydney, boasting the likes of captain Dan Smith, are clear favourites to go through undefeated and add another title to its collection.

"We are playing some really good white ball cricket at the moment," Smith said.

"But I've been around long enough to know if you're not on, the game can easily be taken away from you.

"You've got to front up and get all those little one percenters right.

"You've got to treat each game as the most important and not look too far ahead."

Smith jokes he's been around that long teammates call him WG Grace.

But that long career in the game leaves him well positioned to give his views on the rapid improvement in players' T20 skills

He said: "There's a lot more game smarts than when it started and a lot of different thinking and tactics, which is fantastic.

"Everyone is trying to stay one or two steps ahead of the opposition.

"Kids who come through the pathways system play a lot of T20 cricket and that's obvious when you see some of the talent around."

The four teams left standing after the semi-finals will progress to the preliminary finals on December 20.

The grand final will be staged on January 10.
