The Sydney Cricket Association has announced the NSW Premier Cricket Team of the Decade including 12 of the best players from 2010 to 2019.
The team was selected based on performances from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2019. Players had to play a minimum of 50 games to qualify.
Current NSW Blues Nick Larkin and former Test seamer Trent Copeland are among seven past and present NSW Blues selected.
Larkin and Copeland are proud members of the Sydney University and St George cricket clubs.
Batsmen Greg Mail and David Dawson, spinner Jarrad Burke, and pacemen Josh Lalor and Nic Bills were the other players chosen to have played for NSW.
Dawson, who represented NSW and Tasmania at First Class level, was chosen as the wicketkeeper in the Team of the Decade.
Mail scored 5,273 of his record 15,242 First Grade runs during that period, becoming a proud student during the latter part of his career. Second on the all-time list is allrounder Ian Moran with 13,153 runs.
Moran, who was part of the Sydney Sixers BBL|01 squad that claimed the title in 2011-12, made 6,034 of those runs between 2010 and 2019, predominantly for Eastern Suburbs.
Moran also played 13 One-Day matches for Scotland and played for the Sydney Thunder in 2015.
The team includes a number of Big Bash players, past and present.
Adam Crosthwaite played for the Adelaide Strikers during the first edition of the Big Bash, while Ahillen Beadle played three matches for the Sydney Thunder in 2015.
Crosthwaite also played 31 First Class and 62 One-Day matches for Victoria and South Australia as a wicketkeeper-batsman.
Larkin is currently contracted with the Melbourne Stars, and Lalor has had a strong association with the Brisbane Heat, opening their attack.
Prolific top order batsman Philip Wells is another member of the Team of the Decade to score more than 10,000 First Grade runs. He currently has 10,025 of which 8,284 came between 2010 and 2019.
The six bowlers include Copeland, Bills, Lalor, Randwick Petersham seamer Adam Semple and left-arm finger spinners Burke and Beadle.
Among the six primary bowlers chosen, 1,763 wickets were taken cumulatively during the decade.
